On this noble podium, I as preacher humbly advise myself as a priority and all of audiences generally to keep his faith and piety towards Allah Swt and gradually improve it to it’s best.
Allah swt says
O believers! Be mindful of Allah in the way He deserves,1 and do not die except in ˹a state of full˺ submission ˹to Him˺.2
Alhamdulillah, all praises and gratitude goes to Allah swt, who has grants us a prolonged life so we got our chance to meet with the glorius month of Rabiul Awwal, the month of great prophet Muhammad Saw’s Birth.
On one ocassion As-Sayyid Abuya Muhammad Bin Alawi Al Maliki ever said:”why our prophet ain’t born on the other Noble Month such as Ramadhan, Rajab Muharram or any others?, why he was born at Monday whereas the glorius day of islam was at Friday?
It was because Allah want to praise and glorify our prophet completely, thus make the month of Rabiul awwal and the day of Monday that has nothing special whatsoever become praiseworthy, not because the day or the month itself, but because exactly on that day and month, born our glorius prophet Muhammad Saw.
So we should rejoice, be proud and celebrate his birth by reading his biography and history or reading verses and poems of his dignity and honour, just like what we did at the maulid recitation event, an event to improve and keep our love to our prophet Saw, as well to remind ourselves and to know more about his life, his past, and his struggles of spreading the light of islam as well as his life.
anyone that in love with some one will always mention his name
so the proof of our love is by mentioning his name and always keep send our solawat to him. In the matter of being happy and celebrating our prophet birth, Abuya As-Sayyid Muhammad bin Alawi Al Maliki ever told us a story that narrated from a shaheeh hadith, that when the news about our prophet birth has come to him from his slave thuwaibah, he immedeatly freed him from enslavement, since the tradition of the arabian is to repay any kindness including good news that come to them, called Helwa or Ihsan. Abu Lahab Also sacrificing many of livestocks and gifts it to many people.
And after his death Sayyidina Abbas bin Abdul Muthalib met him in his dream in such a very bad condition because he was gravely punished. Sayyidina Abbas said: how is your condition?, “I’m just as you see, execept every Monday i can drink a fresh and clean water from my fingers.”answer Abu Lahab. “why so?” Sayyidina Abbas Replies, Abu lahab Answered: “Because i freed thuwaibah when i heard about good news of Muhammad’s birth”
That’s why Al hafidz Nasaruddin Al Dimisyqi Said:
If this infedel ( Abu Lahab) that has been guaranteed to get into hell and life eternally in it get a relief every Monday because of his happiness of our prophet birth
Especially we as a loyal slaves that always happy of his birth with every of his day, and died in such faith nad piety
We hope that by entering this month of Rabiul awwal we will get blessings and mercies from Allah Swt And we will also get our prophet love and Syafaat Amin.

INVOCATION UPON THE PROPHET
To the excellent and the honorable one, abuya al-habib Hasan bin Ahmad Baharun, and also to his son, Abuya Ali Zainal Abidin bin Hasan Baharun, and to his brothers and sisters, may Allah be pleased with them all, amin.
DEAR ALL MUSLIM BROTHERS I RESPECT
Our god, Allah oblige us some obligations as his servant, yet… among all those obligations, there are a lot of those orders that aren’t executed by him in direct, for instance:
Allah, The Highest ordered us to pray Shalat, but he doesn’t do so. Also ordered us to pay Zakat without doing it himself either.
Still, there is one kind of prayer stands, that before our God ordered, He did it Himself initially, then angels, so humans. This indicates the dignity of the prayer itself!
What do you think the worship would be? The Lord has enlightened it through Al-Qur’an, Surah Al-Ahzab, verse fifty six:
“Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.”
Pay more attention to the verse, take a closer look! Well, the purpose of word ‘Shalawat’ here might be different among these three existences; the form of The Lord’s Shalawat means blessing, and for angels the meaning would be asking forgiveness, and among humans… means invocation (of God’s blessing). But, look! Our Lord, Allah, The Highest, The Creator of everything also does almost the same thing as angels and humans do –reciting Shalawat upon the Prophet! Then… What about us who said that we love and wish to have the great salvation –the intercession of the Prophet ﷺ, turn out don’t want to recite Shalawat upon him!?
DEAR ALL AUDIENCE
You should know! Allah, The Highest has put lots of benefit reciting Shalawat, on of those is mentioned by the Prophet ﷺ that you can see through As-Shahih Muslim, the three hundred eighty fourth, that was reported by a companion of the Prophet –Abdullah bin Amr –may Allah be pleased upon them both, the Messenger ﷺ said:
“Everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten blessings from allah”
Through the hadith, it is known that reciting Shalawat is a really important asset for us to be done, so that we could receive the pleasure of Allah, The Highest, and also the intercession of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Among all virtues of this Shalawat, some scholars even said that if it recited in intention to show off, even arrogance, the reward of the Shalawat would still be received. About this, you can find its explanation in the shape of poetry through Al-Fawaid Al-Mukhtarah, written by Al Habib Ali bin Hasan Baharun, page two hundred and thirteen:
“Be persistent to recite Shalawat upon the Prophet, its acceptance is sure for no doubt.
Our good deeds are whether accepted or not, unless Shalawat upon the Prophet ﷺ ”
May Allah make us servants that always reciting Shalawat upon the Prophet, so we will be known by him, amin yaa rabbal alamin.
LOVING OUR PROPHET’S DESCENDANTS
To the one we honor, our beloved teacher, abuya al-Habib Hasan bin Ahmad Baharun, and also to all his sons and daughters. May Allah ease their matters –either it’s about current world or later; the afterlife.
And again, to the one I love and respect; all prophet’s descendants and all Islamic scholars that have spare their time to attend this event.
May their presence make our place being flooded by the rain of mercy and forgiving of Allah.
Why is that so? Because that they are the noble ones in the vicinity of Allah and because that they are the grandsons of Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam. There is no such nobility unless if that was come out from the bringer of the nobility, and he is him, our beloved one, Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam.
How would it isn’t so? You know… invaluable skin with no price would be valued once it be the part of Al-Qur’an. You can easily see it being kissed, saved tidily, and never being harassed.
As what is said by that poet:
“Don’t you see the moment when invaluable skin being valued?
It is the moment once the skin is the part of al-qur’an”
They are noble, because their flesh and blood is mixed with the noble one –it is called noble ‘cause if this noble blood were dropped to the face of the ground by the deeds of some people, Allah would order Gabriel (Jibril) to smash those people down– that the blood is belong to Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam.
Raslulullah ﷺ had ever said:
“Every relation and lineage will be no use of it,
Unless mine, it won’t be separated to the judgment day”
Is it obl igatory for us to love them?
Of course it is, and our obligation to love them is not because that they are the one who wants to be loved and honored. Yet, the one who oblige us to love them is Allah, “But where is the proof !?” You might be asking …
Allah said in Surah Ash-Shuraa verse twenty three:
“Say, [o muhammad], “i do not ask you for this message any payment [but] only good will through kinship.”
There was a story told. Once upon a time, Abdullah bin Mubarak was willing to perform pilgrimage (Hajj) prayer. He went out carrying five hundred dinar that he would use later to purchase a camel, later, in a place named Kufah. In the middle of his way to the destination, he met a woman in an ugly dress; she was sitting around garbage picking up some dirt to eat it.
On the street, the woman called him and told that she was Syarifah –which is a term for granddaughter of the prophet. Suddenly, a really deep feeling of pity stabbed his heart inside. He decided to cancel his intention to buy a camel, and gave all the five hundred Dinars he had. Allah then took his intention to perform Hajj prayer away from his heart.
Abdullah stayed at his home to the day of pilgrims’ arrival. “Each time I meet a pilgrim passing by, I told them ‘may Allah accept your Hajj prayer and your effort’, then they replied saying ‘Yeah, you too Abdullah, may Allah accept your Hajj prayer and your effort. We do have met each other there lately’. Abdullah left confused; he was not having any pilgrimage, yet people said that he had. This made him thinking so long that he slept away soon. In his dream… he met the Prophet Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam saying” O Abdallah, Don’t you get confused by what they said. You did help my granddaughter, so I asked Allah to create an angel with the face resembles you to have Hajj prayer in every year to the end of the day” This story has been taken from ‘Al-Ghurar’.
Hopefully, with ourselves loving and gathering with the Prophet’s descendants would make us gathered, along together with Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam, ameen yaa rabbal ‘aalameen.
ULAMA, THE HEIRS OF PROPHETS
The excellency, the founder of the Islamic Boarding School Darullughah Wadda’wah, the educator of our souls and our bodies, the father of ours, the da’i of Allah, the Mujahid in his beloved path, Abuya Hasan bin Ahmad Baharun, God immerse his tomb with mercy and make Paradise a refuge for him. And the honorable, his successor, the beloved parent Ali Zainal Abidin bin Hasan bin Ahmad Baharun and all his brothers and sisters, may the pleasure of Allah covers throughout their noble life, and may Allah make lots people be like them
All my brothers that are blessed by Allah, the Highest. Our Prophet ﷺ had said for about a thousand and four hundred years ago:
“Ulama’ (the scholars) are the heirs of the Prophets”
Prophet Muhamad ﷺ is the last prophet and there will be no prophet afterwards. But Allah made their representatives among entire Muslims. They are chosen by Allah to do an aim and that’s obligation to spread the teaching of Allah and His Prophet, Muhammad ﷺ.
Ulama’ teach sharia knowledge, help us to keep away against sins, exceeding the law of Allah, help us to be closer to the creator, Allah, The Highest, and His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
On account of ulama, we didn’t know any single thing about Prophet’s character before, then we know. Didn’t know about how to pray, now we know. All life matters has been thoroughly specified by ulama’ from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
ALL MY BLESSED BROTHERS
With extensively broad sharia knowledge ‘ulama have, they teach us, since children. They were trained in doing everything alongside the path of Allah. Parents give custody of their children upon ulama, so that those ulama could foster them to be like them, or even until be Waliyullah. The nobility of ulama was explained by the Prophet ﷺ, he said:
Ulama’ have got degrees seven hundred times higher than the faithful ones, the distance between two degrees equals travelling five hundred years long
Masha Allah, how exalted the degree of ulama beside Allah is. Therefore we should respect all ulama’, protect them, don’t be hate or envious upon them, even above it all, plotting to harm them, wal ‘eyadzu billah. Such an idocy of a nation if they are against ulama’, don’t want to listen what ulama’ say, or gather with them, or even seeing them.
Long long ago, the Earth wept harshly on the death of the Prophet, it said to Allah:
“O Allah, Prophets walked on my back once, so who would walk on it afterwards?”
We all know the answer for that question is ‘ulama who are the legacy of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Those who are fear of Allah is Ulama, for they are capable of helping us to get closer to Allah, The Highest, and His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Allah said:
Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge.
So, finally, for the last word of mine, please, give some respect upon ulama’, DO NOT HATE them, or be against them. Let us hope that we would always be close to them, and to all Awliyaullah. May Allah make us be always together with ulama’ and Rasulullah in His Heaven, amen.
DEVOTING THE PARENTS
To the one we respect and we follow, the director of Ma’had Dalwa, Abuya Al-Habib Hasan bin Ahmad Baharun, may Allah immerse his tomb with mercy, and make Paradise a refuge for him. Also to his successor, Habib Ali Zainal ‘Abidin bin Hasan Baharun, may Allah make him and all his family prosper, as always, ameen.
All of us can see each other, meet our friends, our sheikh, and any close relation of ours in this place because of the merit of our parents, and frankly most of us don’t notice it. We just usually thank our God, to Allah, but unfortunately forget to thank our parents. How could we do this!? While Allah says through Surah Al-Isra’ verse twenty three:
“And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment.”
So, will you run going home, get the door open and hug your mom ‘til she asks “What’s the matter?” then you reply “Thanks for everything, mom”.
That doesn’t even change anything my brother…
Don’t you remember the times you made them cry? Broke the things of your dad’s and he just took a deep breath saying “next time be careful” when actually you don’t know how precious that was to your father, even… you would still keep ask for money to him!?
Your mother, the mommy, your beloved mom., after she cooked difficultly around the heat of stove, forgetting her hunger JUST to fill your belly, YOURS! Then you say “I don’t wanna eat this!” At least esteem any little things they’ve done for you.
And after everything that happened, they still put you in the school, until now. Have you done something that made them proud? With all these years that you’ve spent in this school with the money they spent for you? Have you done something good for them? Have you!?
Have you forgotten the time when there was a man came pledging to emigrate (Hijrah), and he had left his parents weeping? Our prophet replied…
“Go back to them and make them laugh as you made them cry”
Don’t you see that obeying parents is more than acquiring such a huge reward like Hijrah? There is something big, but beyond that, there is something bigger that deserves more to be concerned. Hijrah, for sure, is something big, but when it’s compared to parents, it’s not that big anymore –things related to parents are way bigger than anything else if compared to them.
So, once you made your parents cried sadly by your bad attitude or bad things you’ve done, you MUST make them cry again… happily, by your reputation or anything you’ve achieved.
At last, let’s pray to Allah to make us better descendants that make our parents proud, and may Allah take our lives and theirs in the state of being pious Muslims in the straight path of Allah, ameen.
AFFECTION AMONG US
To the one whom we respect together, Abuya Al-Habib Hasan bin Ahmad Baharun, may Allah turn his grave into one of heaven gardens, and also to his successor, Abuya al-habib Zain, bin Hasan Baharun, including all of his close relations, and may Allah prolong every single of their life, and grant them whatever they need, amin.
Alhamdulillah, all praise will just be given to the Lord of universe, Allah, the Highest, our god that has bestowed us his mercy upon us, among all mercy he given is the grace of faith, Islam, also the pleasure of health so that we are able to gather in our routine event, that is HUDATUL MUKHLISIN DALWA, also known as HMD, may this association be fulfilled by blessings. Salutation and peace –we would never forget to mention– we deliver to the one who is esteemed by Muslims, the Prophet that has brought the religion, put the darkness away, and brought the light closer, the Prophet full of affection, who else if it isn’t Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the Prophet that his affection is not only covered his people, but also whole universe as what we can see on the Holy Qur’an surah Al-Anbiya, verse a hundred and seven:
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.”
Islam is a religion that full of affection, and also a religion that really maintain social ethics so that the strong relationship and peace would come into reality. Even more, Islam not only teaches about affection among humankind, but also among living beings.
There was a story about his affection. Once upon a time, Rasulullah ﷺ was gathering with his companions to have a lecture among them, in the middle of the moment, there was a cat appear, then got closer to Rasulullah ﷺ, one of his companions noticed and was about to put the cat away, yet on the second thought, he came to realize about the Prophet’s compassion so well. In that time then… what did the Prophet do in that moment? Did he get rid of the cat by driving it away? NO, rather than doing so, he was even helped the cat to reach the milk in front of him by lifting a side of the cup so that the cat would able to drink it.
From here, we can take a sight of prophet’s affection that also include compassion which was not only among his people, but also even to animals as well.
The Messenger ﷺ said:
“Indeed, Allah is the one who is full of affection; He likes compassion in every matter”
It has also ever been told that…
The prophet and his companions were walking, passing through a corpse of Jewish. Once the Prophet ﷺ it, he cried. All companions around him were questioning that phenomenon, and then they asked “O Rasulullah! Why do you cry? Isn’t this just a mere Jewish corpse?” Then the Prophet ﷺ replied “This is a soul that out of my reach, so he get to Jahannam”. Keep in mind that the Prophet wasn’t cried because that the man of the corpse was used to be a gambler, nor a thief. He cried ‘cause the Prophet wasn’t had enough time to convert that Jewish into Islam. The Prophet took pity on him that he died in the state of being unbeliever.
If that was the form of his compassion to that unbeliever, then how big would his compassion be if it’s about his own people that embrace firmly his religion!?
In conclusion, if you want to be loved, then it starts from you to initiate it first. Love others then you’ll be loved. On the contrary, if you treat them badly, then don’t blame anyone if someday you would get trouble and other problems… by others.
Before I close this speech, it would be better if we hope to Allah to spread his affection upon us, in the current world and later in the afterlife. And may he grow affection inside us to feel for entire living entity, moreover to our own peoples. Maybe this is everything i can deliver, I’m really sorry if you catch any mistakes.
